Beijing - Sana
The Chinese Ministry of Defense announced today that its forces spotted an Australian military plane last month near the country's airspace and that it was legally intercepted at the time.
The announcement by the Chinese Ministry of Defense came after Australia announced yesterday that a fighter plane had seriously intercepted one of the Australian army's military surveillance aircraft in the South China Sea.
"The Australian military plane seriously threatened China's sovereignty and security and was warned to leave, stressing that the countermeasures taken by the Chinese army were logical and legal," the ministry's spokesman, Tan Kefe, said, commenting on the Australian announcement.
