The police recorded numerous operations for Pentecost Sunday as part of the Erlangen Bergkirchweih.

Some make you sit up and take notice.

Erlangen – After a two-year break, the Erlangen Bergkirchweih will take place again from the beginning to the middle of June.

And as was to be expected, the folk festival is also very well attended.

Unsurprisingly, there are also various crimes, especially when alcohol is involved.

Erlangen Bergkirchweih 2022: High capacity utilization, many operations

It was the same on Pentecost Sunday.

In their press release on what is happening at the festival site, the police speak of a high capacity utilization.

By 11 a.m. most of the cellars were already 90 percent full.

Even while it was raining, no outflow of visitors could be detected, it is said.

During the course of Sunday, the police had to move out to many operations, especially towards the evening.

Among other things, two handbag thefts that occurred in front of the “Rocket” ride were conspicuous.

Immediately launched manhunts led to the arrest of two children, nine and twelve years old.

According to the police, the two had been noticed massively in the past few months with thefts and other crimes.

They were handed over to their parents and given a ban on entering the Erlangen Bergkirchweih due to the risk of recurrence.

There were also physical injuries.

Because a toilet visitor didn't want to pay 50 cents to use it.

When asked to do so, he punched the outhouse operator in the face.

At 10:45 p.m., the BRK informed the police of a person with a head laceration – a US soldier had caused this with a beer mug.

The events of the night were also eventful.

A brawl broke out between two groups as they left the festival grounds, with mutual punches.

At traffic controls in the city, a total of ten people who had drunk too much were complained about.

Eight cases involved e-scooter drivers and two involved car drivers.

According to the police, the measured breath alcohol levels were between 0.6 and 2.10 per thousand.

Celebrate after the Bergkirchweih: Numerous offenses in traffic

A 39-year-old was particularly unreasonable.

Visibly drunk, he wanted to get on his bike.

Police officers prevented this, found a blood alcohol level of 1.60 and let the man go.

About 90 minutes later, the man was caught by a patrol driving an e-scooter – he jumped off and hid in a bush.
