Former President of the Republic François Hollande and actress Julie Gayet “married privately” on Saturday in Tulle (Corrèze), the town hall of the city told the newspaper La Montagne.
The photo released by the local daily shows the couple in the town hall – he in a black suit, she in a plain white dress.
Little information has filtered out about this union, celebrated by the mayor of the city, Bernard Combes, the one who succeeded François Hollande when he moved to the Élysée.
La Montagne says, however, that among the guests was the singer and actor Benjamin Biolay.
He had shot a film last year with the actress for a feature film by Briviste Sébastien Bailly.
François Hollande, 67, got married for the first time.
The former President of the Republic had four children with his former partner, Ségolène Royal.
Julie Gayet had she divorced in 2006 from director Santiago Amigorena with whom she had two children.
The actress celebrated her 50th birthday the day before her wedding, on June 3.
Holland launched against Nupes
The love story between François Hollande and Julie Gayet was brought to light in 2014 by the magazine "Closer", which then distributed photos of the man who was President of the Republic on which he was seen getting off a scooter to join Julie Gayet a few streets from the Élysée Palace.
The marriage of François Hollande is an enchanted parenthesis for the former socialist president.
As part of the legislative elections, he embarked on a tour in support of socialist dissidents against the candidates of the New People's Ecological and Social Union (Nupes).
François Hollande also cultivates doubt about a presidential candidacy in 2027.
