G7 summit 2022 in Elmau: These are the topics of discussion - information on the agenda and timetable

The motto of the G7 summit meeting at Schloss Elmau in June 2022 is “Progress for a just world”.
In concrete terms, five topics are to be dealt with.
Elmau – This year Germany is holding the G7 Presidency for the seventh time.
This means that the federal government is hosting the heads of state and government, who will gather at Schloss Elmau from 26 to 28 June 2022 for a joint summit.
In talks on global issues, you want to agree on positions and coordinate goals - to move the world forward.

As the organiser, the federal government can set the priorities for this year's G7 summit.
The program for the conference at Schloss Elmau was already published in January 2022, i.e. shortly after assuming the presidency.
As an organizer, Germany has the "great opportunity to actively help shape global issues" - and we want to take advantage of it.

At Schloss Elmau, we want to talk about everything that advances our globe: multilateral cooperation, cohesion within and between societies, and common global challenges.
The organizers summarize the entire agenda of the G7 summit in one motto: "Progress for a just world".

Broken down into five sub-items, the agenda is intended to cover as many areas of action for the G7 as possible.
Climate protection in particular, but also fair coexistence, the health of all people and economic stability are among the meeting points.
On which day and at what time the individual topics will be discussed is currently (as of May 31) not yet known.
It is certain that the guests will fly to Krün via helicopter.
As of June 19th, an extensive restricted zone has been set up around Elmau Castle.

The agenda of the G7 summit 2022 at a glance - these are the main topics:
1. Sustainable planet:
The G7 wants to play a pioneering role in climate protection.
In order to achieve this, this year they want to talk specifically about the "establishment of an open and cooperative international climate club".
The protection of the environment and biodiversity and a global energy transition are also key issues.
2. Economic stability and transformation:
For global economic progress, Germany has written "setting the course for economic recovery" on the agenda of the G7 summit 2022.
The goal is to ensure financial stability and to establish a "sustainable, social and just global economic system".
3. Healthy life for everyone:
In the course of the corona pandemic, the G7 at Schloss Elmau are dealing with the question of how the health of everyone in the world can be strengthened.
Both the fight against and prevention of pandemics and an improved health architecture worldwide are therefore fixed as discussion points.
4. Investing in a better future:
For this goal, the G7 want to talk about how sustainable development and infrastructure can be implemented worldwide.
The expansion of partnerships on climate and energy is also likely to be an important topic of conversation at Schloss Elmau, not least because of the Ukraine conflict and the problematic dependence on Russian oil and gas.
The G7 also wants to make progress in its commitment to peace and security.
5. A strong sense of togetherness:
As the last item on the agenda for the G7 summit, Germany has determined “Commitment to open, resilient, gender-equitable societies and human rights”.
This includes, for example, defending liberal democracies and safeguarding freedom of the press.
The G7 includes the largest industrialized countries in the world: Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the United States of America.
With their power comes great responsibility, which they try to live up to at annual meetings.
However, critics see more disadvantages than advantages in the coming together of the powerful.
Numerous protests and demos around Schloss Elmau are already planned for 2022.
From June 26 to 28, 2022, the representatives of the G7 countries will meet at Schloss Elmau.

The G7 summit also had an immense impact on the municipality of Krün in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, which is not far from the venue.
After all, traffic chaos is inevitable due to roadblocks and there are restrictions due to the considerable safety precautions.
