Hartz and cordial: "Someone who doesn't mess up..." - Katrin talks about dream son-in-law

"Hartz and warm": Katrin and Elvis want a loving partner for their children.

Vanessa and Jasmin have not yet found the right partner.

About five years ago, the first episodes of "Hartz und Herzen" were broadcast from the Benz barracks on RTLZWEI.

The residents of the former working-class district have become the true stars of the show and entertain the viewers with their open and humorous manner. There's always something going on in the Benz barracks in Mannheim - especially in Elvis' house, as MANNHEIM24 reports.

Elvis and Katrin, who struggled with health concerns at the beginning of the year, still live under one roof with seven of their eight children.

Of course, new topics keep coming up.

While Jasmin dreams of standing on her own two feet, Vanessa tries to reconcile professional training and childcare.

Elvis and Katrin support their children in all matters as they can.

Together with their daughters, they have already mastered one or the other difficult situation.

Family cohesion is very important to Elvis and Katrin.

That's why they want sons-in-law for their daughters, who give their children just as much support and become part of the extended family.

Katrin's and Elvis' eldest daughters have not shown a lucky hand when choosing a partner: Jasmin, who became a mother for the first time at the age of 15, has already shed bitter tears because of the father of her little daughter Melia.

Her ex had hit her - and that put the child's well-being at risk.

The youth welfare office took this as an opportunity to take Jasmin's daughter into care.

Although Jasmin fought for her child - but without success.

Vanessa has also had bad experiences with the world of men.

She was dating and even engaged to a boyfriend eleven years her senior.

But the separation came very suddenly and hard.

Vanessa suspects he dumped her for his ex.

Katrin welcomed Vanessa's fiancé into the family with open arms.

She cannot understand the behavior of her daughters' ex-partners and wishes only the best for her offspring.

In the TV program "Hartz und Herzen - Day by Day Benz Barracks", the Mannheim native describes her dream son-in-law: "A completely normal friend, one who doesn't mess around, takes drugs or similar things.

Who is quite simply normal and stands by [my daughter] and possibly also by [the] little ones at some point”.

With this tolerant attitude, Katrin meets with enthusiasm in the "Hartz und cordial" community.

The Mannheim resident gets a lot of encouragement for these words on Facebook: "Katrin and Elvis – I like you very much, you are cool, understanding parents and very personable," says a fan in the comments, for example.

If Katrin had her way, her children and partner could live in the yellow terraced house forever.

"They don't have to leave the nest, they can stay with me.

However, you would then have to rebuild something," says Katrin in the social documentary "Hartz and warmly" and jokes: "Yes, and maybe also make it soundproof.

Because, yeah, you know what I mean."
