The Prisons Service announced this morning (Tuesday) to the family of Maj. The severity of the incident.

Last month, the IPS announced that it was examining the possibility of financing reconstruction surgery for Jabas, a resident of East Jerusalem who was injured in a terrorist attack near Ma'ale Adumim in 2015.

Her request for cosmetic nose surgery has been denied twice, but she recently submitted an application with a new opinion, indicating the possibility of functional impairment in the absence of surgery.

Jabas is serving an 11-year prison sentence after she tried to carry out an attack during which she caused a gas balloon to explode, hitting policeman Moshe Chen and causing burns to his face and chest.

As a result of the explosion, Jabas herself was also injured, and since then she has undergone various medical treatments funded by the prison service, including two surgeries on her palm.

This morning, Maj. Gen. Chen congratulated the IPS on announcing that it was postponing funding for the cosmetic surgery.

"A police spokesman also called, and that makes me very happy," he said in an interview with 103FM.

"I do not know why I came to this situation, how such a one should get cosmetic nose surgery. I got chills, I felt sad, I felt chills all over my body. As someone who was in this incident, after seven years, I still suffer from all this attack, suffering from post trauma "Suffers from knee pain, and suddenly you hear that the one who came to kill people, came to hurt, she did not come to save people - she wants to perform cosmetic surgery? For what and why?".

Chen went on to say that the IDF Disabled People's Organization even described to him how serious the incident was compared to the rights of security forces officers who were harmed during services. 'The IDF with a disability percentage of one hundred plus, they are not entitled to plastic surgery, if it is not medical. So since a terrorist who came to injure, kill us, injure us, will she receive this treatment?'

"As long as it does not save lives, it is fulfilled, but it is a cosmetic treatment. What is a cosmetic treatment?"

The attack took place seven years ago when Jabas arrived at the a-Za'im checkpoint near Ma'ale Adumim.

Maj. Gen. Chen, who was serving at the scene, spotted a suspicious vehicle and signaled the driver to stop.
