Victory for the New Popular, Ecological and Social Union (Nupes).
While the Ministry of the Interior had refused at the end of May to take into account the left-wing coalition in the list of 19 political shades candidates for the legislative elections, the Council of State estimated in a decision made public on Thursday that it was incumbent on Beauvau to consider the Nupes as "a political nuance in its own right", giving reason to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who had seized him in summary proceedings.
The Council of State considered in particular that "the absence of accounting under a single nuance, of the votes cast on the candidates of the Nupes, is likely to undermine the sincerity of the presentation of the electoral results".
A "huge snub" for Darmanin
“The Council of State validates the obligation for Darmanin to name us and count us as Nupes for the legislative elections.
Darmanin and Macron must stop their hacks and shenanigans, ”congratulated Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
" Victoire !
“, also exclaimed the boss of EELV Julien Bayou, seeing it as a” huge snub for the Minister of the Interior who had dared this maneuver and recognized the common banner of his movement but not ours “.
Victoire.

In a message published on the social network at the blue bird, the Ministry of the Interior said to take note "of the decision of the Council of State on the nuance of the candidates for the legislative elections".
“It will proceed with the modification of the shade grid in order to create the Nupes shade,” he assured.
A declared desire to remain attached to the parties of origin, justifies the Interior
In May, Gérald Darmanin had decided “not to bring together, under a single nuance, the political parties having created the coalition of the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes)” resulting from the agreement between LFI, the PS, EELV and the PCF.

Questioned by Le Parisien, the Ministry of the Interior considered that this decision was justified because "the Nupes brings together candidates invested independently by the parties associated with this agreement", and that "this tends to demonstrate the will for these candidates to remain attached to their party of origin".
Hence the fact of maintaining the nuances “French Communist Party”, “La France Insoumise”, “Ecologists”…
