The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, presented on April 28 an electoral reform proposal that includes reducing the number of legislators, eliminating local electoral bodies.
It would also affect the National Electoral Institute.
Carmen Aristegui spoke with Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), who says that the electoral reform "is not necessary" and this was demonstrated by the results of this Sunday.
