Taxis are now more expensive in the FFB district as well.

Four years after the last price increase, the calibrated price clocks in the majority of the approximately 60 vehicles registered in the region were set to the new prices at a joint appointment.

Fürstenfeldbruck - Normally they wait in a row at the side of the road for their customers.

On Saturday, the taxi drivers waited patiently in line to have an officially approved price increase sealed.

During the concerted action, around 30 taxi drivers registered in Fürstenfeldbruck and almost as many colleagues from Olching, Puchheim and Germering gathered on the public fairground to have their calibrated taximeters updated to the latest price list.

minimum price

After the last increase was four years ago, Günter Fasching describes the new tariffs as "more than necessary".

The Schöngeisinger is vice-chairman of the Brucker Taxi-Genossenschaft, where Mark Weidinger has just replaced the long-time director Viktor Arnold at the top.

Arnold will be officially adopted at the end of July.

The new minimum fare – i.e. the moment when the passenger gets on board and the taximeter is switched on – now increases from 3.70 to 4.20 euros for the taxes reported in the district.

With every kilometer covered, the price clock then ticks on by 2.10 euros (previously 1.90).

If the journey goes over a longer distance, the fee is reduced: from eight and 16 kilometers to 1.95 and 1.80 euros respectively (previously 1.75/1.60).

The fixed price for a trip to the airport increases from 86 to 91 euros.

For comparison: In Munich, the basic price has climbed to 5.30 euros, per kilometer 2.30 euros are due.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

The fees are set by the district office.

"It's a long way and a lot of effort before they are approved," says Fasching.

Which is why price increases in the taxi sector are always calculated “with foresight” given the long cycle.

So it could happen that the currently higher inflation rates and increased fuel prices "eat up some of the new tariffs again".

Central Appointment

This also includes the 62 euros that Andreas Gialamas charges for the digital update of the taximeter.

The Greek, who works for a Munich company that specializes in this, needs just under three minutes per car and then sticks the approval seal (similar to the TÜV sticker) on the device, which he only manages.

In Bruck, where the cooperative has organized a central appointment to save colleagues the trip to Munich, the job is completed in just under 90 minutes.

In the state capital, where Gialamas converted 1,800 of the 3,500 taxis, things took a lot longer.

Overall, the economic situation of the cab drivers in the district has "improved somewhat" after the Corona crisis, according to Fasching.

The taxi trade is no longer a booming industry, although there is still a waiting list of interested parties who want to get hold of one of the 33 officially approved licenses for Bruck.

According to Fasching, his colleagues strive to keep prices fair: "Taxi driving shouldn't be a luxury."
