The area around the train accident near Garmisch-Partenkirchen was particularly affected.
Here, the German Weather Service (DWD) warns of heavy rain with precipitation amounts between 15 and 25 l/qm2 in a short time throughout the morning.
The warning is initially in effect until the early afternoon.
Only the northwest of the Free State is currently spared from the rain.
The sun keeps peeking out around Central and Lower Franconia.
It will also be the warmest here with 20 degrees in Feuchtwangen and Hof and 23 degrees in Würzburg.
Under the thick rain clouds, the thermometer does not rise above the 20 degree mark.

"Some of this extreme heat could also spill over to Germany and bring 35 degrees and more.
