The mothers' center in Penzberg wants to start a co-working project.

The parents involved share childcare so that some of them can work or have time for themselves.

Registration is now possible.

Penzberg

– Whether working, learning, checking e-mails or just reading a book in peace: the mothers' center (MüZe) would like to create these opportunities for parents of babies and small children in their rooms on Winterstrasse in Penzberg.

The idea for this project called “Co-Working with a Child” came from Lisa Fischer, the new business promoter in the town hall, explains Jasmin Moneer, the second chairwoman of the mothers’ center – a parents’ initiative that has, among other things, toddler groups and playgroups as well as a runs a parent-child café, all on a voluntary basis.

According to Moneers, young families with their first child in particular use the offers in the MüZe.

And they are precisely the main target group of the new co-working project.

Such concepts have existed in Munich for some time, explains Moneer.

The idea behind it is as simple as it is good: Several parents join forces so that some of them can work in peace while the other part looks after the children.

This is how it should work in the Penzberger MüZe, explains Moneer.

A garden and a kitchen can also be used

The parents' initiative will make their premises available for this - including a garden and a large room where the children can play.

And a kitchen where parents and children can cook and eat together.

There are also places to sleep for the little ones.

So while the children are being looked after by some of the parents, the other part should be able to work in other areas of the MüZe in peace - or whatever else mum or dad would like to do, says Moneer, who knows from her own experience as a mother that you can't do anything at home with a small child on some days - not even looking at the inbox on the computer. The 2nd MüZe chairwoman expressly emphasizes that not only working parents from Penzberg and the surrounding area can take part in the project.

"It is also intended for parents who want to have some time for themselves." Everyone who does not have small children (anymore) but would like to support the young families - for example older people - is also welcome.

MüZe is reserved for one and a half days for the co-working group

It is currently planned that the co-working group will meet every Wednesday morning around 9.30 a.m. in the MüZe, where an open breakfast café will be offered until around 12 p.m.

From midday the group should have the MüZe “all to themselves”;

also on the following Thursday morning.

According to Moneer, the MüZe will only be open to the general public again from 2 p.m.

How the group organizes and divides their time together is up to them, Moneer said.

The time for work and children should be planned and distributed jointly by those involved.

The responsibility for this lies solely with the parents.

The board of directors of the MüZe is only present at a first meeting.

You don't have to become a member of the parents' initiative to take part in the co-working project, stresses cashier Jana Arlt.

But of course the initiative is happy about anyone who wants to join.

The MüZe will make its premises and WLAN available free of charge - initially until the end of the year, according to Arlt.

Then we'll see.

She justifies this commitment to families by saying that the core concept of her association is to take care of the needs of parents and their children.

"That's our job." The co-working project should start "as soon as we have registrations".

You can already register for this.
