The Criminal Security Branch in Lattakia arrested a number of members of a network that trades in fuel oil, supported by the complicity of the director and accountant of a gas station.

The Ministry of Interior stated, in a statement that SANA received a copy of, that while the Criminal Security Branch in Lattakia was monitoring a gas station, it suspected a car, arrested its driver, and searched it. Seizing the aforementioned car and confiscating the quantity, and during the interrogation of the arrested, he confessed to a network that trades in diesel, with the complicity of the station manager and people who are hidden.

The ministry indicated that the branch arrested most of the network's members, including the station manager, members of its workers, the station's accountant and an employee, and seized several fuel cards in their possession, and by interrogating them, they confessed that they had partnered with hidden people to trade in subsidized diesel in exchange for sums of money, by filling in quantities of diesel without Cards, deducting some liters from every car filling process, selling part of the material at the black market price, packing without cards, and giving a sum of money to the aforementioned accountant and employee in exchange for covering them up.

The ministry indicated that investigation and research are continuing to uncover the rest of those involved in the case, and those arrested will be brought to the competent judiciary.
