Tiger Woods will not play in the US Open next week at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, he announced via his Twitter account.
"I have previously informed the USGA that I will not be competing at the US Open as my body needs more time to get strong for major championship golf," Woods tweeted.
"I do hope and plan to be ready to play in Ireland at the JP McManus Pro-Am and Open Championship next month. I'm excited to get out there again soon!" he added.
Tiger Woods inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame
Woods withdrew from the 2022 PGA Championship last month after struggling in his third round, posting a career-low score at the event.
The JP McManus Pro-Am is scheduled for July 4-5 in Adare, Ireland, and the Open Championship—the final major on the golf calendar—will be played July 14-17 at the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland.
