A newcomer to this miniature, yet highly coveted department, which condenses the entire history of contemporary jewelry in one place.

They have reigned over the Asian continent for more than a decade now and yet Paris always seems to discover or rediscover them.

They are Wallace Chan, Cindy Chao or Anna Hu and they have in common to have graphic virtuosity, jewelery exuberance and a prominent clientele that commands respect during their rare visits to the capital.

Names that will soon be known to everyone since after Cindy Chao, it is the turn of the Taiwanese Anna Hu to take up residence in Paris in the prestigious Galerie des Bijoux of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

A well-preserved place made up of nearly 1,200 pieces where JAR jewellery, Roaring Twenties finery from Van Cleef & Arpels, but now also more contemporary finery rub shoulders.

For this exercise in style, this former Harry Winston artist offered the museum a piece that was all the more collector's item, as it was designed with four hands by her muse and friend, the artist Cindy Sherman.

“She wanted a piece that bridges the gap between East and West and includes an element of the zodiac,” says Anna Hu.

“This yin yang for me is also a reflection of his personality.

Sometimes exuberant, but also naturally beautiful”.

If Cindy Sherman boasts of having even worn it in her sleep as it was so comfortable, she nevertheless agreed to part with it to pass it on to posterity.

All that remains is to hope for his next visit to Paris to see this bracelet enthroned in a good place.

In the meantime, it is at the very popular Tefaf fair (The European Fine Art Fair) in Maastricht that we will find Anna Hu, before, of course, a bang during the high jewelry week next July. .
