Attack on train journey: 19-year-old beats girlfriend

He was arrested at the Giessen train station.

A young man hits and kicks a woman on the train to Gießen.
Even when it's already on the ground, he doesn't let go.
Gießen – On a train ride from Siegen to Gießen, a 19-year-old attacked his girlfriend.
Two men saw the attack and tried to help the young woman.
They were then physically attacked, the police said.
The crime happened on Friday (June 3) around 11 p.m.
The 19-year-old partially aimed his punches and kicks at the woman's head.
He continued to beat his victim when he was already on the ground.
Federal police officers managed to arrest the attacker at Gießen station.
The two helpers from the regional train reported criminal charges to the federal police station.

The attacker was released the same evening after all necessary police measures had been taken.
He is said to have been "slightly intoxicated".
The background to the attack was not disclosed.
The Federal Police Inspectorate in Kassel has initiated criminal proceedings.
