A man under the age of 30 was shot dead on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday June 8 in Fort-de-France, according to a police source, bringing to 10 the number of homicides by firearm in Martinique since the beginning of the year.

The victim was declared dead at the scene, near a nightclub.
Two other passersby were slightly injured by the shots, according to the same source.
This is the tenth shooting homicide in Martinique since the beginning of the year, including four in May alone.
The investigation was entrusted to the Territorial Service of Judicial Police.
The same night, the gendarmes found around twenty bullet holes on the facade of a house in the town of Sainte-Luce, a source close to the investigation told AFP.
No injuries are reported.

The intense circulation of firearms in Martinique worries the authorities.
On April 21, the gendarmes seized 30 category B weapons and numerous ammunition in a clandestine armory.
