Update from June 8, 7:06 a.m
.: A man (58) first killed a woman (53) and then himself. The fatal shots in an Aldi in Schwalmstadt fell on Tuesday around 1 p.m.
The background to the fact is initially still unclear.
The police and public prosecutor initially gave no information about the relationship between the two dead and their origin.
As the

reports, citing an eyewitness, a man initially followed a woman in an Aldi branch.
When she called for help, the man reportedly shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.

Update from June 7th, 3:51 p.m
.: Shots were fired at around 1 p.m. in an Aldi discounter in Schwalmstadt in northern Hesse.
Alerted emergency services found two dead in the market.
According to the statements of witnesses, a man (58) shot a woman (53) in the supermarket and then apparently took his own life, the police said.
The
HNA
initially reported on this, citing an eyewitness.
After initial investigations, the police have ruled out third-party involvement.
During the operation, the police announced via Twitter that there was no danger to other people or the population.
Other people were not harmed according to current investigative findings.
The investigation would continue at full speed.
The crime scene was cordoned off.
A support center for witnesses and those affected has been set up on site.
The background to the fact was initially still open.
Also, what relationship the two dead had to each other.
"The exact background and the course of the crime are now the subject of further criminal investigations," said the police.

"There are currently no indications of danger to the population or bystanders," the police tweeted.
The area around a discounter is currently cordoned off.
The police are on site with a large number of emergency services.
The shots were fired on Tuesday (June 7) in a grocery store on Wierastrasse at around 1:06 p.m.
"The background to the crime is currently unknown," said the police.

The Hessian state parliament president Astrid Wallmann (CDU) reacted to the news during a state parliament session and thanked the emergency services in Schwalmstadt.
On behalf of the state parliament, she expressed heartfelt condolences to the relatives.
Wallmann informed the MPs between two speeches in the plenary debate that followed the government statement by Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU).
