The Medical Registrar, the Director of Health, today announced the second batch of 23 medical qualifications recognised by the Special Registration Board under the Medical Registration Ordinance.
The list will be gazetted on the 10th of this month and will take effect on the same day.
Together with the first list of 27 medical qualifications announced at the end of April, the committee has so far recommended 50 medical qualifications for recognition, and is actively promoting the accreditation of other non-local medical courses. Medical qualification.
The committee expects that the remaining lists of recognized medical qualifications will be submitted in batches as soon as possible.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, said that the committee will publish the list of recognized medical qualifications in batches, so that qualified non-locally trained doctors can come to Hong Kong to serve in public medical institutions through the special registration route as soon as possible, so as to alleviate the current shortage of doctors in the public medical system.
