However, in terms of the number of infected residents, Kwai Tsing District has the largest number of confirmed patients with 5,666 residents, accounting for 72% of the total number of residents in the district; followed by Kowloon City District, with 5,082 confirmed patients, accounting for the total number of residents in the district. 75% of the residents.

Among the 18 districts, 10 districts have an infection rate of 70% or above of residents of RCHEs.
In terms of the number of infected residents, the Kowloon City District has the largest number, with 4,604 residents diagnosed, accounting for 77% of the total number of residents in the district.
More than 500 residents in Kowloon City and Kwai Tsing each died of illness
During the fifth epidemic period, a total of 4,970 residents of residential care homes in Hong Kong died of illness. Among them, 560 residents of residential care homes in Kowloon City died, the most in 18 districts, followed by 502 residential care homes in Kwai Tsing District. Residents died, and the death rate of infected residents in the above two districts was 9%.
Three other districts have a death rate of up to 10%, including Central and Western District, Sham Shui Po District, and Yau Tsim Mong District. Among them, the number of deceased residents in Sham Shui Po District is as high as 462.

The Labour and Welfare Bureau pointed out in the document that the inter-departmental working group formed by the government in March this year is discussing a number of measures to strengthen the overall anti-epidemic capability of residential homes and deal with the possible sixth wave of the epidemic, including improving the ventilation of residential homes and strengthening the hospital. Infection control in residential buildings, improving communication between government departments and institutions, etc.
