Today, Quneitra Governorate, in cooperation with the Syrian-Russian Cooperation Foundation, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Humm Charitable Association for People with Disabilities, held an entertaining and educational event entitled (You are my friend), with the participation of a number of children with disabilities, in the town of Nabe` al-Sakhr in the governorate.
Dr. Imad Ibrahim, representative of the Syrian-Russian Cooperation Foundation, pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of activating social work and taking care of this category of children and integrating them into society through education and the necessary care, calling for improving social, psychological and recreational services for them and working to find rehabilitation and training centers in the governorate.
Ibrahim pointed out that work is underway to rehabilitate and maintain the care center for people with disabilities in the town of Nabe' al-Sakhr to restore it to service after it was looted and sabotaged by terrorists.
The head of Hum Charity Association, Sabah Al-Dakhil, referred to the training courses that have been implemented for people with disabilities in the town of Nabe’ Al-Sakhr and the village of Al-Muallaqa in the southern sector of the governorate, including community cultural development, adult education courses and learning difficulties courses in Arabic, English and mathematics from fourth to ninth grade, and services are provided to patients Down syndrome in partnership with many civil and local organizations.
Al-Dakhil explained that the association’s goal is to integrate people with disabilities into society, highlight their needs, and provide assistance to them, making them active children in life.
