A BMW driver (37) accelerated too much on Thursday (June 9) when heavy rain fell on the Salzburg autobahn near Holzkirchen.
The car crashed into the crash barriers due to aquaplaning.
There was a long backlog.

– A 37-year-old man from Pfaffenhofen, who was driving his BMW on the A8 in the direction of Salzburg on Tuesday (June 9) at around 9.45 a.m., underestimated the risk of aquaplaning on the rain-soaked motorway.
As reported by the Holzkirchen motorway police, the BMW skidded shortly after the Holzkirchen junction and damaged several crash barrier fields.
The driver was not injured, and according to the police, no other motorist was endangered.
The property damage amounts to around 8000 euros.
The car had to be towed.
By the time the scene of the accident was cleared, there was a backlog of several kilometers.
The Holzkirchen fire brigade was deployed with two vehicles.
