At least three people have been shot dead in Maryland in the United States
The suspect opened fire inside a production facility in the city of Smithsburg.
During a confrontation with one of the Hooters the suspect was shot, and is now in hospital.
Government offices told residents: "If you are local, please stay away from the area"

At least three people were shot dead tonight (Thursday) at a manufacturing facility in Smithburg, western Maryland, United States.
The sheriff's office said the suspect was shot and taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect entered the production facility in the west of the country and opened fire.
During the incident, a confrontation broke out between the suspect and one of the policemen, shooting at the suspect and injuring him.
"We are actively following the mass shooting in Smithsburg
at the moment, and our office is in contact with officials on the ground," said a representative of the country's government ministries. "If you are a local, please stay away from the area."
