United States President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he was weighing executive actions he might take if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v.

Wade on a federal constitutional right to abortion.

The president, during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

in Los Angeles, he again pressed Congress to codify the landmark ruling's right to abortion into law, following the release of the leaked draft Supreme Court ruling on the issue.

"I think if the court overturns Roe v. Wade and does what's written ... if that happens, I think we have to, we have to legislate it. We have to make sure we pass legislation that makes the federal government say this it works like this," Biden told Kimmel.

He added: "I think what we are going to have to do. There are some decrees that I could use, we think ... we are studying that right now."

CNN previously reported that the Biden administration has been working for months to prepare for the long-awaited Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v.

Wade.

Until now, the White House has not exactly detailed the options that could be taken to mitigate the effects of the ruling.

Among the preparations, round tables have been convened with state legislators to discuss the issue and solicit ideas.

Options Biden could pursue include executive orders that could make it easier for women to travel to get abortions in states where the procedure remains legal or expand access to medical abortion through the mail.

Some advocates have also suggested leasing federal land for abortion clinics, bypassing state laws that restrict them.

The president said Wednesday night that he believed the court's ruling would cause a "mini-revolution" and prompt Americans to remove many Republicans from office in this year's midterm elections.

"It's clear that if, in fact, the decision goes the way it does and these states impose the limitations that they talk about, it's going to cause a mini-revolution. They're going to remove a lot of these people from office," Biden said.

"You have to make sure you vote," he added.

Biden again warned that the draft ruling suggests that a wide range of rights beyond access to abortion will be threatened.
