More than 3,000 people had to flee from these flames.

For reasons that are still unknown, a fire broke out in the Spanish tourist hotspot Costa del Sol near Málaga on Wednesday.

The cities of Benahavis and Pujerra are particularly threatened.

500 members of the fire brigade, civil defense and the military emergency aid unit UME are deployed.

“It was a bit stressful because it was unexpected.

We were at home eating dinner and suddenly the police announced over the loudspeaker that we had to leave, that we had an hour to evacuate.

Then the rush to get everything, with the children, to make sure nothing was missing, food, clothes, water, we fled running.”

"We've been here since 11 p.m., without eating, without knowing what we're going to do, how many days we're going to stay.

This is where we spend the night with the dogs and the family.«

Temperatures of over 30 degrees, drought and strong winds make extinguishing work difficult.

Fanned by the gusts of wind, the flames sometimes advance around 30 meters per minute, according to the authorities.

The affected region was devastated by a forest fire last September.
