The general price increases are causing problems for cultural organizers.

In Bad Tölz starts on Saturday, 11.

June, the second "Kanapee Musik Open Air".

Many well-known artists are coming back to the city.

Bad Tölz - This Saturday, June 11th, the second "Kanapee Musik Open Air" starts in the Tölzer Rosengarten.

Organizer Wolfgang Ramadan is starting to set up the tent and the seating today.

Werner Schmidbauer comes to the spa town to start things off.

Until July 3rd there are almost daily events with nationally known musicians and cabaret artists (see below).

So far, however, only Martina Schwarzmann's performance has been sold out.

And that causes sleepless nights during Ramadan.

"You notice how much people save," says the organizer in view of the extremely high energy and food costs.

After the corona pandemic, this is now a “second catastrophe”.

"Even if I'm still doing relatively well compared to other organizers who don't receive any subsidies," says Ramadan.

Ramadan: "People are buying their tickets at shorter notice"

The culture sector has literally collapsed in the past few weeks, reports Ickinger.

"People are buying their tickets at shorter and shorter notice and are now making it all the more dependent on the weather whether they come to an open air festival or not." Even with Martina Schwarzmann's performance in Bad Tölz, it took four weeks for all the tickets to be sold.

"Usually they're gone after two or three days," says Ramadan.

For the other artists he "sold a maximum of 100 tickets", which is not even half compared to last year.

The culture industry is currently in an "extremely existential phase," says Ramadan.

In addition, many employees would be absent.

Hackers paralyzed site

The organizer, who is active throughout the Oberland, had another devastating experience three weeks ago at the start of advance ticket sales: "We were hacked, so our entire booking system collapsed." Hackers, he knows from colleagues, have it too at the moment aimed at the event industry "because our websites have a wide reach".

Three of his employees worked 18 hours a day for almost a week to manually enter all booked tickets again.

"We were offline for a week," says Ramadan.

And there would still be isolated complications.

"We try to settle everything as quickly as possible and get in touch with people if we notice something is wrong," says Ramadan and asks the ticket buyers for their understanding.

In order to get the publicity going, Ramadan's team was also active at the Rose Days and distributed 6,000 flyers.

"We hope that this will draw people's attention to us again," says Ickinger.

"The artists have so deserved to finally be able to be back on stage after the Corona period."
