Today, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic sentenced to death two British citizens and a Moroccan citizen who fought alongside Ukrainian militants.
And Sputnik reported that the British convicts Sean Benner and Aiden Aslin, as well as Moroccan Saadoun Ibrahim, were sentenced to death by firing squad after the investigation proved that they participated in the armed aggression to seize power by force in the Donetsk Republic in exchange for a reward.
For his part, the head of the judiciary in the Donetsk Republic told reporters: that the verdict on the three mercenaries can be appealed to the Court of Cassation within a month from the date of the announcement of the verdict.
During its special military operation, the Russian forces were able to protect Donbass from the capture of many foreign mercenaries fighting alongside the Ukrainian forces, while the Russian authorities confirmed that the prisoner-of-war provisions would not apply to these mercenaries.
