In July 2017, the leading economic nations met for the G20 summit in Hamburg - and demonstrators from all over the world also came.
There were street fights in some cases, and the police and politicians were sharply criticized afterwards.
The federal government wants to be better prepared for the much smaller G7 summit at Schloss Elmau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
More than 25 public prosecutors should be available around the clock in shift work.
In addition, between four and seven judges will be deployed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Ministry of Justice announced.
Around 260 containers were set up at the Olympic Ski Stadium, which the police and judiciary will use together.
There are arrest cells for suspected criminals: up to 150 people can be accommodated temporarily in 50 of the containers after arrest or custody.
Operation "around the clock"
In the containers there are rooms for judges, public prosecutors, defense attorneys, interpreters, criminal police officers, identification service and federal police, but also a refreshment station, medical and recreation rooms.
"The police and the judiciary are preparing very carefully for the meeting in Elmau," said Bavaria's Justice Minister Georg Eisenreich (CSU).
»Our judges and prosecutors will be on duty around the clock for protection and security.«
The G7 summit, chaired by Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), is planned for June 26-28.
The heads of state and government of seven leading industrial nations met at Schloss Elmau in 2015.
According to the police, around 18,000 officers were on duty at the time.
It is not yet known how many will be used this year.
So far it has been said that this time it will be a similar number.
