Poing – The first 60 of a total of 300 planned EOF apartments are currently being built in Poing's Lerchenwinkel development area.
Rental apartments that are state-subsidized (EOF) based on the income of the tenants, so that the rent is significantly (between six and eight euros per square meter) below the market price (around 15 euros).
Poing: Rent a good half of the market price
You have to apply for social housing, according to Mayor Thomas Stark, 449 applications have been received for the first 60 units, and the application phase has ended.
The apartments are allocated in coordination with the Ebersberg District Office, the relevant property developers and the municipality of Poing.
“The soundings and a first pre-selection will begin in mid-June,” says Stark.

Südhausbau is the developer of the first 60 apartments, and completion is planned for autumn.
According to the mayor, the other EOF units will follow in the next few years through the municipality of Poing as well as the GWG municipal housing association in Munich and the Munich housing association GEWOFAG.
Social housing in Poing has a long tradition
Social housing construction has a long tradition in the municipality of Poing and is stipulated in the contracts with the Working Group of Developers and Investors (ARGE) in Bergfeld.
EOF apartments have already been created in the new development areas of Seewinkel and Lerchenwinkel, as well as in the previous quarters in Poing-Nord.

Poing: Demand for cheap rental apartments is huge
As Mayor Thomas Stark reports, some of the applicants for the first 60 apartments in Lerchenwinkel work in social or charitable professions, for example as caregivers for the elderly or as educators/carers in day-care facilities.
Citizens who cannot afford the normal rent or can only do so with difficulty.
The Lerchenwinkel development area has a size of 28.9 hectares (equivalent to around 41 football pitches) and is being built north of Bergfeldstraße.
In the quarter there will be living space for about 2000 people, as well as a high school (start of construction still uncertain);
a day-care center is also planned.
Furthermore, the Bergfeldpark will be expanded into the Lerchenwinkel.
