The areas harvested from the wheat crop in Daraa governorate since the beginning of the harvest season until today reached 14,700 hectares, and 4,500 hectares of barley.
Head of the Plant Production Department in the Daraa Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Wael Al-Ahmad, told SANA reporter that the harvesting operations are proceeding at an accelerated pace for the wheat crop, while the barley harvesting operations are nearing completion, indicating that the barley in Daraa is grown in Baalah in the third and fourth settlement areas, and most of the areas have gone out of production due to the decline Rainfall this season.
The areas planted with barley in Daraa reached 29,700 hectares, exceeding the planned area of 27 thousand hectares, while the areas planted with irrigated wheat reached 10,700 hectares, exceeding the plan of 9257 hectares, and with rain-fed wheat 84 thousand hectares, exceeding the plan of 80 thousand hectares.
