In the Judea and Samaria cluster, they are looking to find transportation solutions to the challenging situation in the localities. • One of the solutions - a collaborative transportation project that will connect drivers and passengers for a fee.

In Judea and Samaria, the use of hitchhiking is especially well known.

Even many years after the method of mobility became unpopular in most of Israel, young and old alike continued to use the free platform throughout Judea and Samaria. The infrastructure and public transportation in Judea and Samaria is one of the significant challenges faced by residents in recent years.

As part of a survey conducted ahead of the Judea and Samaria conference held this week in Ma'ale Adumim, 75% of residents in Judea and Samaria indicated that they were interested in UBER services, ie a paid travel booking service. The survey, conducted by Direct Falls among 1,371 adult samples Of the residents of Judea and Samaria, dealt with other issues in the field of transportation such as the condition of infrastructure and roads which for years their handling has been delayed.

When asked "To what extent do traffic loads and road infrastructure affect your daily life?", No less than 79% of respondents surveyed that they affect their lives to a very large extent and another 17% answered that the impact on them is 'to some extent'.

Only 4% answered that the issue of transportation infrastructure affects them to a small extent or not at all.

In addition, 55% of the respondents are generally dissatisfied with the handling of the road issue, while 25% are quite satisfied and only 9% are very satisfied with the handling of the issue.

As part of the headquarters' work to find transportation solutions, the Judea and Samaria cluster has been working on a number of transportation solutions in recent weeks, one of which is the Uber-style cooperative transportation project, which, unlike what is happening in Little Israel, can operate in Judea and Samaria.

According to the plan, an app will be launched that will connect drivers and passengers in exchange for payment.

The payment will be based on distance and travel time, similar to taxis, and will allow passengers with a similar travel route to share a car and pay a discounted price.

The use of the service will only be possible for the residents of Judea and Samaria and will require prior registration and approval of personal details in order to ensure the safety of passengers and drivers.

This is to allow residents of Judea and Samaria to reach key locations in a cooperative format such as Uber, or to allow movement between localities in non-private cars.

"The transportation issue is a painful issue for all residents of the State of Israel, and the results of the survey are a reflection of the alarming situation to say the least that the residents of Judea and Samaria attest to, and rightly so," said Yigal Lahav, chairman of the Judea and Samaria Council.

"It is not surprising that the state of the missing infrastructure leads to congested roads and fatal accidents, all of which are the result of a lack of transportation planning that has not been done here for years. We will work to promote the issue of infrastructure in the area."
