As the executive producer of Hulu's new show "The Kardashians," one of its stars, Kourtney Kardashian, gets to see early cuts of episodes before they're available to the public.
But she revealed in an episode released this week that she wasn't happy with the way the show handled her engagement to her now-husband Travis Barker.
In the episode, Kardashian tells a friend that she and Barker had been filming for the show and were having a "wonderful time."
"And then we've been looking at the edits, and we're so upset that they're, like, wrapping us up in this drama," she said, referring to a plot involving her ex, Scott Disick.
Disick and Kardashian had an on-and-off relationship that ended several years ago, though he continued to appear regularly on the family's reality shows.
They have three children together.

One of the new show's plot lines concerned Disick's discomfort at feeling that the family he has been attached to for years has alienated him and excluded him from events due to his ex's affair with Barker.
Kardashian said she felt like the show's editors had "cast" her for the drama.

During a moment of confession, Kardashian explained that as one of the executive producers, she gets to see early versions of the show, and "I'm in one of the best times of my life, and it's time for our show to get it."

When it comes to her and Disick, Kardashian sounded like she wanted to put behind her the days when viewers, and some of her family, believed they should get married.
"It's allowing this old narrative and buying something that doesn't really exist," he said.
"It should be an empowering episode about me coming out of toxic relationships and really having this fairy tale love story that is my reality."
New episodes of "The Kardashians" air Thursdays on Hulu.
