Kreis closes test center in Gilching

The Corona test center in Gilching was opened in September 2020, and demand was high at the time.
It's not anymore - the center will be closed at the end of the month.

After Gauting, the district of Starnberg is now also closing the test center in Gilching.
Reason: There are fewer and fewer who want to be tested for Corona.

– The number of corona facilities continues to fall: At the end of the month, the district will close its test center in Gilching.
According to the district office, the background to the discontinuation on June 30th is the declining demand: “The 16th Bavarian Infection Protection Measures Ordinance, which came into force on April 3rd, no longer provides for broad citizen testing.
As a result, the number of tests carried out every day is also falling.” In December 2021, the test center in Gilching carried out a total of almost 8000 tests (of which around 5700 were quick tests), in May the number was only around 2200 (of which 1600 were quick tests).
The numbers continued to decline steadily.
Since September 2020, around 28,800 PCR tests and almost 40,000 rapid tests have been carried out at the Gilching test center.
However, pharmacies and doctors in the district continue to test.
