After the funeral ceremonies were carried out this Wednesday at the national house of his party and later a body mass was held in the parish to which he belonged, after 6 in the afternoon the remains were buried Environment Minister Orlando Jorge Mera, who was shot dead last Monday in his office.

According to the authorities, the minister died at the hands of a childhood friend of his, who goes by the name of Fausto Miguel de Jesús Cruz de la Mota.

Remembering that they bear no grudge against the perpetrator of the fateful act, the official's family limited themselves to praising and honoring his life during the funeral, leaving everything in the hands of justice.

For its part, the Public Ministry deposited this Wednesday the request for coercive measures against the accused, where they ask for preventive detention;

The hearing was scheduled for this Thursday at 9:00 in the morning, local time.

According to the file deposited by the Public Ministry, there were six bullet wounds that the minister received, of the 13 that the murderer fired when they were alone in his office.

For refusing to grant permits to import more than five thousand tons of used batteries to a company, since they did not meet the legal requirements, they killed Orlando Jorge Mera, according to the file.

Upon requisitioning the murderer's vehicle, the Public Ministry found inside it a pistol-type firearm, Mini Uzi brand, caliber 9 mm, with two magazines of 30 capsules each for it.

In addition, they occupied a briefcase that contained four magazines with a capacity for 30 capsules, two of the magazines containing 30 capsules each, another magazine with 11 9mm capsules and a fourth empty magazine.

On their side, the family of the victimizer sent a statement to the press, in which they acknowledge that it was a tragedy that mourns both families, since they have been very close for more than three decades.

Similarly, they reiterate that they regret the situation and appeal for the forgiveness that they have expressed in advance and that the minister's family has already accepted.

Therefore, they asked the citizens to allow the authorities to continue with the investigation process in an objective manner, without speculating on the causes and motives of the unfortunate event.
