Legislative 2022: Zemmour neck and neck with the majority in the Var, according to a poll

2022-06-09T21:59:32.619Z

In a department where he achieved scores above his national average in the presidential election, the boss of the Reconquête! would overtake his RN opponent in the first round.

Will he see the glass half full?

If Éric Zemmour had missed his presidential bet with 7.07% of the vote in the first round, the nationalist leader could well be on the way to settling in the fourth district of Var, land where he is a candidate for deputy.

According to an Ifop-Fiducial poll for LCI published on Thursday, the boss of Reconquête!

would be in second place next Sunday with 24% of the vote.

Behind the contender for the presidential majority Sereine Mauborgne, estimated at 31% of the vote.

But ahead of his competitor RN Philippe Lottiaux, who would total 22% of the votes.

A performance for those who champion the "union of rights".

Including legislative ones.

Behind this trio, are the contender of Nupes, Sabine Cristofani-Viglione, who would gather 16% of the votes, and that of the right and the center Marie-Christine Hamel who would only have 4% of the votes.

In the second round, Éric Zemmour would face a very close match.

Faced with the candidate from the presidential camp - the most likely hypothesis according to Ifop - the former Elysian contender would be beaten, but narrowly, with 49% of the vote.

Especially since Éric Zemmour achieved scores well above his national average in the towns of this constituency: 22.42% in Saint-Tropez, or 21.4% in Grimaud.

In the department as a whole, he won 13.25% of the vote.

If the RN candidate made it to the second round, he would also lose.

But with a little bigger difference:

For the moment, all the opinion polls carried out in recent days have shown an erosion of the low level of the presidential camp, which may not have an absolute majority.

And a clear breakthrough of the Nupes, a banner behind which the main left formations have lined up.

If the RN managed to form a parliamentary group, Reconquest!

is not promised to the same electoral end.

The latter should have, at best, only a very small handful of elected officials at the Palais Bourbon.
