Gauting - Motorbike noise is a thorn in the side of the citizens of Gauting.

Now the police have reacted and brought in specialists from the Oberbayern Nord Presidium for a broad-based check.

Again and again, the Gauting police receive complaints from residents about motorcyclists who, according to the complainants, are traveling through the Würmtal in the direction of Starnberg or the Fünfseenland with exhaust systems that are too loud.

They like to test their sports equipment in terms of speed, especially after the place-name sign.

In order to investigate these complaints, the Gauting police on Whit Monday requested expert support from the so-called motorcycle control group of the Oberbayern Nord Presidium in order to be able to set up a stationary control point specifically for motorbikes passing through with the appropriate manpower in their area of responsibility.

Four motorcycles are too loud

Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., a total of 140 motorcyclists with machines over 600 cc were subjected to a very thorough inspection of their machines by specially trained police officers.

A total of four motorcycles were complained about because of excessive noise emissions, which resulted in the loss of the operating permit for all four machines.

In addition, four administrative offense reports were made due to the improper attachment of license plates.

Motorcyclists have to go to the police because of vehicle defects

Four motorcyclists had to report to the police again with their machines because of other vehicle defects.

The overall complaint rate for all motorcycles checked was eight percent.

The response from the motorcyclists ranged from "harassment" and "highway robbery", which according to the police was also due to the fact that some of those checked came directly from Gauting and were subjected to a check after just a few meters, to praiseworthy words from a "human" who was repeatedly addressed Control".
