Wolfratshausen – There is continued resistance to the relocation of the Marienbrunnen decided by the city council.
At their most recent meeting in the "Zum Löwenbräu" inn, the three city councilors Helmut Forster, Manfred Fleischer and Richard Kugler announced a non-partisan information event that will take place on June 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pizzeria Da Gianni at the Isar-Loisach Stadium.
"We want a non-partisan alliance of convenience to preserve the old town ensemble," explained Fleischer.
In order to initiate a referendum, proof of nine percent of the signatures of the approximately 14,000 eligible voters in Wolfratshausen is required.
In the Loisachstadt, this would mean around 1,260 votes against the relocation of the Marienbrunnen.
The representatives of the Wolfratshauser list assume that this hurdle can easily be jumped over.
"We have already received a lot of encouragement in talks with the citizens," said Forster confidently.
However, this lip service is not enough for the city council's economics officer.
He called on all supporters to come to the Pizzeria Da Gianni at the Isar-Loisach Stadium at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 12th.
After all, the lists should be laid out in as many places or shops in the city area as possible.
Participation of at least 20 percent required
If the necessary quorum is reached, a referendum follows.
What is then important is a simple question that can be answered with "yes" or "no" and a participation of at least 20 percent of all those entitled to vote.
In the past few months, the representatives of the Wolfratshausen list have come up with plenty of arguments against moving the Marienbrunnen fountain.
Starting with the high costs of the measures, which are estimated at 200,000 euros, to damage to the well and the supposedly small gain in space: "We will fight it with everything we have," Forster promised.
At the meeting, the Wolfratshauser list also took a clear position on other issues.
The faction rejects a revival of the surf wave project rejected by the city council just as rigorously as a transfer of the fifth Waldram middle school class to the Hammerschmiedschule.
According to Fleischer, it is reasonable for a teacher to commute, "but not for 25 students".
