The inhabitants of Paris and the 150 km around will be able to notice, from June 14 to July 7, the low altitude overflight of a plane equipped to measure the quality of the air in Ile-de-France, announced Friday the CNRS.
The plane, a white ATR42 with Safire, Météo-France, CNRS and CNES logo, will fly at an altitude of at least 300 m above the ground, to carry out measurements mainly above the forests of Ile-de-France. , specifies the public research body in a press release.

One take-off per day is planned from Pontoise airport, for a flight time of approximately three hours.
The municipalities that will be flown over will depend on the day's flight plan, itself determined by the wind

flying laboratory
" equipped with multiple sensors and analysis systems "
the purpose of which is to better understand the transformations of the air, undergone by urban pollution when it combines with the substances emitted naturally by plants

These flights are part of the "
Paname 2022
" initiative, the objective of which is to measure air quality in the city and better understand the effects of climate change in the urban environment, via several measurement campaigns during the summer.
