It was March 7th, 2020 when a farmers' market was held for the first time on the square in front of Bockhorn's town hall.

Since then there have been a further 18 dates, with constantly increasing success and more and more participants.

Now a group has been found that has founded its own association to "finally help this regular event to become independent," as Mayor Lorenz Angermaier put it at the meeting in the Weber inn.

Bockhorn – So far, the municipality has not seen itself as an organizer, but it has helped to get the regional market up and running.

Now there is the association Bauernmarkt Bockhorn eV, equipped with a board of directors, association statutes and clear statutes, in order to take care of all relevant topics of this event itself.

In front of a good 30 citizens, all of whom spontaneously declared themselves members in writing, Korbinian Gruber (Windham) and Martin Haindl (Hecken) explained the association's project: "Because of the pandemic, we had no opportunity to meet for a long time.

A group has now been formed to take over the organization of the popular market and its marketing.

Because we want to offer all interested buyers a platform to offer their goods.

We attach great importance to the quality and regionality of the food, but ultimately this market should also be a meeting point for the community, should rekindle social life," said Gruber.

First, Tobias Pfanzelt (Salmannskirchen) and Katharina Berger (Riedersheim), two of the co-initiators of the market idea, read the extensive articles of association.

Among other things, it states that "no economic purposes are pursued", Bockhorn's market regulations apply and that all board members exercise their positions on a voluntary basis.

The two readers of the statutes were then elected to these offices as 1st and 2nd chairmen.

In addition, the members approved an annual fee of 15 euros.

"This money," says the newly elected market boss Pfanzelt, "is intended to enable us to buy our own beer table sets and a small pavilion so that we can have a presence ourselves.

We will have to pay for insurance and also for activities that we have planned and want to continue to plan at the suggestion of all members and fierantes.” A separate homepage is being developed, for reasons of liability an entry as an eV is also necessary.

In the discussion, above all, possibilities were discussed to achieve more attractiveness: for example through posters in Erding and the surrounding area, campaigns for children in kindergartens and schools as well as more information about regional added value and local products.

The board:

Chairman: Tobias Pfanzelt (Salmannskirchen);

2nd Chairwoman: Katharina Berger (Riedersheim);

Secretary: Martin Haindl (hedges);

Treasurer: Thomas Fisch (Grünbach);

Cash auditors: Maria Angermaier (Kirchasch) and Achim Eigenschenk (Bockhorn).
