This is the sad fate of Leila W. from Bogenhausen: The then 14-year-old was brutally murdered in October 2021.

Now the judiciary is trying to clear up the case.

Munich – But the people of Munich will never know the background to the crime: Because the murder trial is closed to the public.

Reason: Joshua M. (17) was still a minor at the time of the crime in October 2021...

According to the indictment of the Munich I public prosecutor's office, he and Leila W. were at least friends or even a couple when the deadly drama that took place in the victim's family home in Denning happened - the 17-year-old had stayed there regularly at the time.

According to the investigation, the accused suddenly stabbed Leila M. at the end of October 2021 - in the middle of the night when she was still sleeping.

Only now did it come out: he killed her with a single stab, as the police confirmed.

According to tz information, Joshua M. made a confession in court on Friday, as confirmed by court spokesman Florian Gliwitzky.

"The accused also expressed his regret for the crime he had committed." The victim's family, however, could not hear these words: they only testified at noon in the murder trial.

This is currently unclear.

According to the public prosecutor's office, however, Joshua M. has been showing signs of mental problems for some time.

After the crime, he initially fled - the murder commission publicly searched for the accused and was finally able to arrest him at the Pasing train station.

He now faces ten years in prison under juvenile criminal law - but a maximum of 15 years if the particular severity of the guilt is determined.



Leila's mother found her stabbed lifeless daughter in bed at the time - she had to testify in court yesterday.

A pain no one can put into words.

In a public obituary, the family at least tried: "You were the most wonderful girl," the relatives write in it.

"We are so incredibly proud of you.

You were so full of life, hope and confidence.”

In it, the relatives also write: “A part of you will always be with us.

Will live, although we cannot yet imagine how.”

The murder case will be heard by judge Matthias Braumandl (44) until August 2nd.

He is considered a top lawyer, was already a judge at the district court and has also made a name for himself as a criminal investigator
