T-shirts with self-designed inscriptions, stickers for the wall: the plotter has been put into operation in the Schongauer Juze and with it the media room is complete.
There will be introductory courses so that the Juze visitors can really work independently with all the devices.
There is also a lot to do in other respects.
Schongau – The Schongauer Juze is really proud of the latest achievement for the media room: a cutting plotter complete with transfer press.
During the Corona period, this project was applied to the "1000 Thanks to the Children" campaign.
And got the award, so to speak, as a consolation for the children and young people who had to accept so many restrictions during the pandemic and were not allowed to visit the Schongauer Juze either.
The thanks of the Juze team go to all donors who helped, including the Boneberger butcher shop, the Raiffeisen bank Pfaffenwinkel, the Sesar bakery and the Schongau clothing store.
The media educator Barbara Unterholzner drew attention to the campaign.
Lots of foils to try out had been received from "Printing and Engraving" at Herzogsägmühle.
The first attempts have already been made
The first steps have already been taken, as Juze managers Christina Annibalini and Basti Kosler proudly explain.
The "Myr Festival", for example, was a good choice as a motif.
The Schongauer Juzes team is also part of the “Schongau is colorful” event.
On Saturday, June 25, the diversity and interculturality of Schongau will be celebrated in the old town with a varied program.
"We want to do something for the decoration," says Annibalini.
The idea is to sew pennants and print the word "colorful" on them in the different languages of the world.
This also works wonderfully with the new plotter.
In a nutshell, you can use a special PC program to create an image, which is then cut out of a special foil on the plotter and printed on fabric using the transfer press, or which is glued on directly.
For example, the opening times on the Juze sign have just been "completely renewed".
There are hardly any limits to the design of caps, stickers or lettering for signs or graffiti.
It's a lot of fun," says Annibalini.
"Creating great things with little effort"
"Great things can be done with little effort." Templates from the Internet, of course only license-free, also work great.
"There are so many fields of application, it's really ingenious," says Kosler enthusiastically.
"The money was used sensibly." The total cost was around 2,500 euros.
The aim is for the young people to sit down independently at the PC in the media room and design “their” thing, like a great, very personal birthday present.
But it doesn't work well without instructions or a little instruction, which is why there should be a three-day workshop at the beginning of the summer holidays as part of the holiday program, where interested people between 12 and 21 years can familiarize themselves.
"A completely free design would be the dream, but you have to feel your way around first," says Kosler.
The "plotter representatives" could then instruct the others.
“You should be able to sit down and have the courage and not be afraid of making mistakes,” is Kosler's wish.
The only downside is that the Juze will be closed for these three days (3rd to 5th August) because you can't organize both at the same time: plotter workshop plus open operation in the youth center.

Plotter to round off the media room
"The plotter is a nice addition to the media room," says Kosler.
Now the only thing missing for the team is photography training to be able to pass on this knowledge.
"We're already registered," said Annibalini.
In view of a youth center that is currently extremely busy, these are all “luxury problems”, says Kosler.
They are already quite active in the Schongau youth workshop
