For the first time in weeks, the incidence in Bavaria has risen above 300 - the upward trend in the corona numbers continues.

The hotspot is in Bavaria.

Munich – The seven-day incidence for Bavaria reported by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has risen above 300 again.

On Friday morning, June 10, it was listed as 308.5.

On Thursday it was still 275.4.

This continues the upward trend.

Corona incidence in Bavaria rises above 300 - for the first time since May 24th

As recently as May 30, the RKI had reported a corona incidence of 190.

The last time the incidence was over 300 was on May 24th.

However, the development of the past few weeks may be partially distorted by public holidays.

Across Germany, the incidence rose to 318.7.

Experts have also been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because by far not all infected people have a PCR test done.

But only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.

In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.

Corona in Germany - RKI warns of a possible renewed increase in corona infections

In its weekly report on Thursday, the RKI warned of a possible renewed increase in corona infections in Germany.

It is expected that the subvariants named BA.4 and B.5 will spread more, "so that there can be an overall increase in the number of infections and a renewed increase in infection pressure on vulnerable groups of people as early as summer," it says.

Seasonal effects - which actually slow down the virus a bit - could not compensate for the spread of these variants if rules of conduct are no longer observed.
