A new photo has revived an old legend.
The city of Amarillo, in Texas, published this week on its social networks an image from surveillance cameras showing the silhouette of what appears to be a strange creature with horns or large ears prowling the local zoo.
Along with the unique video capture, the city joked with its residents, asking them to help identify who appears in the photo.
“Is it a person with a strange hat who likes to walk at night?
A chupacabra?
Do you have any idea what this Amarillo Unidentified Object could be?” officials wrote in the Facebook post.
The video image captured on May 21 at 1:25 a.m. shows what appears to be a person on the other side of the gate at the Amarillo Zoo, looking similar to the
legendary beast that supposedly kills animals in livestock areas.
The reactions of the users did not wait.
Many joked that it was a chupacabra, others said that the figure in the photo resembled the famous character of Jack Sparrow, played by Jhonny Depp, or even Jake Angeli, one of the followers of the QAnon conspiracy theory, who led the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and who disguised himself as a bizon during the attack.

City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation Director Michael Kashuba later intervened to calm the public.
"It is important to note that this entity was outside the Amarillo Zoo. There was no sign of trying to enter the location," Kashuba said.
"No animals or individuals were harmed. There were no signs of criminal activity or vandalism."
The official added that the intention of the publication was to entertain the community with a game on social networks.
