Customs first seized the first parcel allegedly containing fish oil at Hong Kong International Airport last Thursday (2nd), and then seized another at a logistics company in Kwai Chung the day before yesterday (9th). The parcels involved in the case, which contained fruit chips, were investigated and found that the recipients of the two parcels belonged to the same local man. Leung Chi-peng, senior investigation officer of the Customs Narcotics Investigation Division, said that according to the principle of risk management, the staff of the Airport Division of Hong Kong Customs selected and inspected an air parcel arriving in Hong Kong from the United States at the Hong Kong International Airport last Thursday (2nd), which was reported to contain fish oil. , which were found to contain 4 bags of suspected cannabis flowers, weighing about 2 kg in total, and 4 bags of gummies suspected of containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), with a market value of about 410,600 yuan.
The case was handed over to the Customs Narcotics Investigation Division for follow-up. The day before yesterday (9th), a logistics company in Kwai Chung seized another air parcel from the United States that arrived in Hong Kong and claimed to have fruit chips, which contained 4 suspected large bags. Twist, weighing about 2 kilograms in total, with a market value of about 410,000 yuan.
After in-depth inspection, the above two parcels were received by the same recipient. Customs officers immediately carried out monitoring and delivery operations in Kwai Chung yesterday and today (10th and 11th). The address unit arrested a 36-year-old local man on suspicion of "trafficking dangerous drugs". He reported that he was unemployed and had no gang background. He would be detained overnight for investigation.
During this operation, the Customs seized a total of 820,600 yuan worth of drugs.
