Hörgertshausen's community leader on the renovation of the gymnasium, the children's home and villages without a tavern

Because of Corona, there was no town meeting in Hörgertshausen for almost three years - and that's why Mayor Michael Hobmaier had a lot to report.

Hörgertshausen

- The head of the town hall was able to report that the municipal council had managed thriftily and that there were currently 3.8 million euros in reserves.

That's why you can do well with the total budget of 9.7 million euros (administrative budget 4.4 million, asset budget 5.2 million).

The key allocation of 700,000 euros shows that Hörgertshausen is one of those municipalities that have to be economical with their money.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The community needs the money for the ongoing project to renovate the gymnasium.

"This is a very annoying topic for me," said Hobmaier, who actually only wanted to update the elementary school part and then got the documents submitted back from the government for funding.

For years, the community had to help with the fire protection renovations that had been planned, and this resulted in a million-euro project with 1.7 million euros in eligible costs.

After all: Hobmaier has already been promised a grant of 906,000 euros and explained that the municipality itself has to spend around one million euros.

Such a large measure was not planned, but there is no alternative.

Hobmaier made it clear that if a replacement were to be built, a triple gymnasium would have to be built and the costs would then be in a completely different area.

Children's home Wuselwiese under municipal sponsorship

In addition to the elementary school with 72 children, the municipality now also runs the Wuselwiese children's home under its own sponsorship.

Michael Hobmaier confirmed once again that they were satisfied with the previous sponsor, the Johanniter, and now everything is going better again in his eyes.

112 boys and girls are currently cared for in two crèche groups, two regular kindergarten groups, two integrative kindergarten groups and one after-school care group.

In September, for the new kindergarten year, the mayor expects an increase to 120 children.

In the fall, the newly established forest group is to start operations.

"We even get new applications for the children's home without having to look for them," reported the head of the town hall, taking this as a sign of the good reputation and good atmosphere of the community facility.

Hopes now rest on "Sepp's Treff in Soller"

A special task during the pandemic was the search for a new host for the Soller inn.

After 23 years, Iveta Lehmann resigned and the mayor saw a great danger of desertion if the village lost the inn and the event hall.

He was very happy that Sepp Off, a well-known restaurateur, could now be won over.

For the reopening of "Sepp's Treff im Soller" had to be rebuilt on a large scale with new permits.

The municipality contributed 200,000 euros to the necessary construction work and the landlord also made an investment.

This makes the mayor confident that there is a long-term solution here too.

"A village without an inn and meeting place has a problem," said Michael Hobmaier.

In this context, he called on the almost 2,000 residents with their primary residence in the Hörgertshausen community to maintain local cohesion after two difficult years.

As far as their future is concerned, the clubs are dependent on receiving support and on citizens getting involved on a voluntary basis.

"Meanwhile, every club is affected," said Hobmaier.
