The head of Lattakia City Council, Eng. Hussein Zingerli, ruled out what is being circulated about the possibility of collapsing the residential building located in the Shreiteh neighborhood, in which a crack was reported yesterday night.
Zingerli explained that the building was exposed to cracks and that its construction system is intact, according to two reports submitted this morning by a specialized committee of the Engineers Syndicate, and that the safety and security ratio for the building exceeds 90 percent.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Zingerli said: “Yesterday we were informed of a crack in one of the residential buildings in the Shreiteh neighborhood, and immediately the Public Safety Committee came to inspect the building and evacuate the residents,” explaining that the building consists of four floors, and there is a regular permit to build the fifth floor previously granted by the Before a committee affiliated to the Engineers Syndicate after ensuring the integrity of the structural system of the building, and that the committee itself will today conduct a third inspection process to confirm or deny the previous information.
Zingerli added that there is an empty space to the left of the building and there is no fear of damage to the neighboring buildings, and the last floor has been waxed as a precaution, and housing for 8 families consisting of 26 people has been secured in the “Riviera and Samman” hotels until ensuring the safety of the building, indicating that in coordination with The relevant police department has also placed a patrol at the entrance to the building to protect the property of its residents.
