Tawfiq Aru, a 28-year-old resident of Kfar Jat, was shot dead last night (Sunday) in a residential neighborhood in the city while sitting in a vehicle near his home.

MDA staff who arrived at the scene performed resuscitation operations at the end of which his death was determined.



The incident took place around 00:00, when MDA received a report of the incident.

Paramedics and paramedics were called to the scene and found the wounded man lying on the ground unconscious.



"The wounded man was lying unconscious in the yard near the entrance to the house, suffering from a severe penetrating bleeding injury," said MDA medic Asil Kadan and MDA paramedic Eyal Drori.

"We gave him medical treatment and performed resuscitation but the injury was critical and in the end we had to determine his death."



Police have opened an investigation into the case, the background and the circumstances of the investigation.

About a month ago, Mazen Zachor, a young man in his 20s, was shot dead on Hashel Street in Acre.

MDA staff who arrived at the scene evacuated him to Galil Medical Center in Nahariya, where he was pronounced dead. MDA medic Dor Vaknin said that the wounded man was lying on the street unconscious with a penetrating injury.

"We quickly put him in an intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital when his condition was critical," Vaknin said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the background to the incident is criminal.



According to the Aman Center, 33 people have been murdered in the Arab sector since the beginning of the year, including 28 men and five women.

Last year, 128 people were killed, including 112 men and 16 women.

The number of murders in Arab society since 2000 stands at 1,664 people.
