From the womb of the fertile and tender nature and from the countryside of the city of Sheikh Badr in the Tartous governorate, the poetic talent of Saleh Salman was launched, which has resulted in fourteen poetry collections, in addition to the collection (The Fertile Jubbat al-Hob), which will soon be published by the Syrian General Book Authority.

Salman, born in 1953, won many literary prizes in the fields of poetry, story and theater, including the Abu Al-Fida Poetry Prize in Hama, first place for the poem (In the Mirror of Amrit), the Rabia Al-Raqqa Poetic Prize in Al-Raqqa, first place for the poem (The Dream Penetrates the City), and Al-Batani Prize

The short story ranked first in Raqqa for the story (The Corpse), the Mujahid Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali Prize for the short story ranked first for the story (My Grandfather Plants Purple), and the Teachers Syndicate Award for Theater in Damascus ranked second for the play (The Game).

Salman, who is a member of the Arab Writers Union, the Poetry Society since 1994, believes that the title of the poem is not sufficient for it, and that the title of the poetic group is its key, and therefore it is not independent by himself. He explained in his conversation with SANA that he had read many Arab and foreign writers, where he found in their poems what is beautiful and useful. It opened up many spaces for him.

He pointed out that poetry expresses the soul of man, his culture, his vision and his thought on many issues and about life in general, and not to write it at a specific time.

Modernity is inevitable, according to Salman. Renewal lies in it, and as long as life goes on, there must be a new one in it. It is true that there are old things that remain valuable and are considered a foundation upon which to build, but there are also outdated matters that constitute obstacles to development and progress that must be overcome.

Salman stressed the importance of culture for the poet in order for his poetry to be good, and this culture is not found in ideas alone, but in the methods of expression and language that is his means of expression.

Salman sent a message to young poets about the necessity of reading without specifying the literary gender. Rather, the short story, novel, and literary studies must be read, and it is necessary to focus on reading poetry and critical books as well, and to master the language in terms of grammar, morphology, awareness and semantics.

It is noteworthy that Salman is a member of the Arab Writers Union and worked as a rapporteur for the poetry association in the Arab Writers Union for the years 2018 and 2019 and wrote many articles and literary studies that were published in many local and Arab newspapers and magazines.
