At 4:51, it indicated that the thunderstorm associated with the southwesterly air flow was affecting the Pearl River Estuary. It is expected that some parts of Hong Kong will be affected in the next one or two hours. The rain is quite heavy, and the public is urged to be vigilant.
The Observatory also issued heavy rain in some areas at 5:10, referring to Lantau Island in the outlying islands, which was particularly heavy, and heavy rain with an hourly rainfall exceeding 70 mm has been recorded or is expected, and severe flooding may occur.
