The footage is said to show Russian air defense systems in Donbass, Ukraine, and a downed Ukrainian MiG-29 jet.

Like many of the war zone video footage, these cannot be independently verified.

What is clear, however, is that four months after the Russian attack, the war in Ukraine has developed into an artillery duel in the south and east of the country.

While the Ukrainian army was able to ambush and wear down the Russian troops with anti-tank weapons as they advanced towards the cities of Kyiv and Kharkiv, it is now a brutal battle in the open field.

For which Ukraine is increasingly lacking the necessary weapons.

In his most recent video address on Friday, President Zelenskyi once again urged international support with heavy weapons in order to be able to defend himself against the Russian advance.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi, President of Ukraine

»I repeat these names every day – Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, Bakhmut, Sloviansk.

Many, many others.

Russia wants to destroy every city in Donbass - every single one.

And that's no exaggeration.

Like Volnovakha, like Mariupol.

All these ruins were once happy cities.

Now there are black burn marks there, remains of explosions.

That is all Russia can give to its neighbors, to Europe and to the world.«

Pictures from Mykolaiv, a port city in the south of the country east of Odessa, show that the humanitarian situation in the contested areas is also becoming more precarious.

Queuing for drinking water and food distributed by the Red Cross.

Food prices have risen sharply.

»Now even a kilo of potatoes costs a lot of money, but we're going to persevere.

I don't think we can complain in Mykolaiv compared to other cities where there are real problems people are suffering from.«

The mayor of Mykolaiv would rather people flee the city.

Life here is no longer safe.

Again and again there are impacts in the middle of the city.

This administration building was already bombed at the end of March.

This attack alone killed 36 people.

Oleksandr Senkevych, Mayor of Mykolaiv

»I'm not sure if the main target of their attacks is the port infrastructure.

You just shoot towards the city.

If they shoot from 45 kilometers away, it can also miss 500 meters.

You can aim at one spot, but it can hit two blocks away.

These aren't precision weapons."

The city of Kharkiv in the north-east showed once again on Thursday that the Russian army is not just about destroying military targets.

Here the Russian troops are said to have bombed a tram depot.

It's useless from now on.

The Ukrainian Post, meanwhile, presented another limited commemorative stamp in Odessa, as a symbol of the country's resistance.

The proceeds are to be used to buy medical equipment and support a hospital at the front.
