The works of the innate sculptor Walid Murad, who reached his sixth decade, saw the light in his first exhibition, which was recently opened in the Zawaya Gallery, although he lay for a long time waiting for a date that would bring him together with lovers of this fine art. Since the sculptor Murad did not study art in an academic way, the skills and tools he possessed reflected the extent of his attachment to the Syrian stone, and depicted his love for art as if he was giving it in his hands to narrate by re-carving the stones of the tales of war that passed over his country at times, and he wrote the loftiest verses of joy and peace at other times. I hid it to reveal the contents of a ten thousand year-old history.
On his partnership with the artist Lutfi Al-Ramahin in his first exhibition, Murad explained that it started from his knowledge of him in 1995 and the meeting of their ideas within a purely artistic scope, and then his repeated visits to his workshop and his cooperation with him with a number of works, leading to the organization of their joint exhibition “Our Story with the Stone”, adding: I gained from him will and patience at work To get the carved in the best possible result, stressing that they met the love of stone and marble in carving from other materials.
